Gold Tintype

This is a handmade analog print made from a digital negative. The photo is printed on a gold tintype on aluminum. Tintype printing is an ancient technique, used in the past (some still use it in studios today) to create portraits directly from the camera in large 4x5" or 8x10" formats. You can read more about it here:

In my case, I used tintype to produce a contact print directly from a digital negative made from my black and white prints.

The result is astonishing in detail.

Aside from the gold tintype, which is not produced by me, everything else was processed directly by me in this studio.
